Half Marathon Takes Runners Across Two States

Celebrates 15th year and more than $100 thousand dollars raised for nonprofit

TEXARKANA, Ark. (January XX, 2023) --  Run the Line half marathon celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2023 taking runners through Arkansas and Texas on a 13.1 tour of both cities. Runners from more than 30 states will line up Sunday, February 19 at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Texarkana on the Texas side before quickly crossing into Arkansas. The race finishes on the Arkansas side of downtown.

Run the Line is the yearly fundraiser for Partnership for the Pathway, a nonprofit organization building a seven mile pathway between the two cities. The race has donated over $150 thousand dollars to date. In 2022, race officials were able to donate more than $85 thousand dollars. “Those who participate in our race have a direct impact on both cities,” says race director Julie-Ray Harrison. “This goes beyond the economic boost on race weekend. Race fees allow us to make yearly contributions to the pathway. Runners from across the country have had a hand in making Texarkana Arkansas and Texas a better place to offer safe, outdoor paths for walking, running, biking and playing.”

Memorable Results Media is a proud sponsor of the annual event. “A long time runner and proud participant of this race, it was a natural choice to partner with Run the Line. This is one of my favorite races!” says Michelle Rupp, founder of Memorable Results Media.

“Our race is truly unique, offering runners a variety of terrain. Running through two parks, residential neighborhoods and city streets” says Harrison. “We love the opportunity to showcase our great southern town.”

Run the Line offers a 2-person and 4-person relay team for those who want to still participate without traversing the more than 13 mile course. Kids can run too with a special 1 mile race on Saturday. Interested participants may register at https://runsignup.com/RuntheLineHalfMarathon.
